Job Description
Gardenview Montessori School is hiring an afternoon assistant teacher in the preschool class (3-6 years).
The ideal candidate will:
- be kind and nurturing to young children
- be patient and understanding of individual needs of children
- be willing to help keep classroom clean and organized
- prepare and maintain the classroom and materials under the direction of the Lead Teacher
- be able to work closely with others
- be able to prepare snack
- be dependable and reliable for the assigned shift
- be able to supervise children at all times to ensure their safety
- be comfortable helping children in the bathroom if they need assistance
- be 18 or older Experience working with children is preferable. Montessori experience is not necessary, but is a bonus! Upon hire, applicant must be willing and able to complete:
- Pass a TB Test before the first day of work
- Register with MERIT
- a background check through the Department of Children, Youth & Families
- complete STARS Basic training within the first 6 months
- CPR and First Aid Training
- Food Handler's Permit
- Bloodborne Pathogen Training
- annual professional development requirements
