Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Montessori Primary Teacher's Assistant to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will work closely with lead teachers to support the development of young learners in a Montessori classroom setting, fostering independence, curiosity, and a love for learning. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help create a nurturing environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of children during their formative years while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing Montessori-based lesson plans that promote literacy, math, and overall childhood development. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping maintain a safe, organized learning environment. Engage with children individually and in small groups to support their learning needs and developmental milestones. Supervise children and help maintain a safe and nurturing environment. Help prepare educational materials, classroom activities, and learning stations aligned with curriculum objectives. Help with classroom cleaning and organization. Observe and document children's progress, communicating insights to teachers for tailored instructional strategies. Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing additional assistance as needed. Collaborate with teachers on curriculum development and classroom management strategies to enhance the educational experience. Skills Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and interest in Montessori teaching methods. Experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings. Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies. Experience in or willingness to learn about lesson planning for literacy, math, and other foundational subjects. Ability to work effectively with children with autism or other special needs; experience supporting individuals with disabilities is a plus. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and students effectively. Technical proficiency in or willingness to learn about educational tools and classroom technology relevant to early childhood learning environments. Demonstrated understanding of childhood development stages and best practices for primary (2 1/2 to 6 years old) teaching.
