Overview:
In-person Tacoma and surrounding school districts Schedule M-F up to 34 hrs per week Compensation $23-$29 Start date: 26-27
School Year Responsibilities:
Providing support either in a 1:1 or general capacity: As a 1:1 support: you would be going to each class with your student to provide behavioral and educational support throughout the day. 1:1 supporters are responsible to ensure their student is on task and working towards their behavioral goals.
General classroom support:
providers who are assigned to work with a single teacher or classroom. In this role, providers will support wherever they are needed most by the teacher. Typically every day looks different in this position, and you may be working with several different students throughout your day. Calm, clear, and concise communication with both children and adults Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time Potential need to frequently bend, crouch, and lift (up to 40 pounds) Potential toileting assistance
Qualifications:
High school diploma AND AA Degree or higher, 48 Semester Credits, 72 Quarter Credits OR Para Pro Exam Completion upon hire (passing score 455) we can get you set up for this when onboarding based on commitment to the hiring process Minimum 6 months of professional experience working with children Strong assessment skills Willingness to assist in students' learning processes CPR card within the past 2 years in-person TB result from the past 1 year We can sign you up for both CPR and TB if necessary Inclination to work well in a team environment Preferred qualifications: Previous experience in schools Right Response Trained SPED experience Benefits (eligibility dependent on employment status) : Paid time off Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401K with employer matching Direct deposit Single point of contact Does this role sound like the right fit for you?
