Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our team for our pre-K classroom. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students and assisting in creating a nurturing learning environment. This position offers an opportunity to support the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and fostering student development.
Responsibilities:
  • Report Lead Teacher of the class
  • Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing daily lesson plans
  • Support students in various educational activities and projects
  • Help prepare/offer snack
  • Help prepare the classroom centers/art projects
  • Diaper changing and toilet training kids who need it
  • Classroom management (work with teacher to determine what is expected during circle time, classroom transitions, bathroom breaks)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy classroom
  • Safety of the children in care and Provide one-on-one assistance to students as needed
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to create engaging learning experiences
Experience:
  • Experience in working in early childhood education is preferred but not mandatory

Requirements:
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent At least 18 years old 30 Hours Child Care Basics certificate (must be obtained within 30 days after being hired) Valid food handlers permit & First Aid & CPR and other certification (must be obtained within 30 days after being hired) Lift up to 40 pounds Be able to squat, kneel, sit on floor, see, hear, speak with children to ensure children's health and safety Meet Discovery Village Academy's policies and requirements
