We are seeking passionate, reliable, and highly skilled instructors who are committed to delivering high?quality, standards?based training that saves lives and strengthens communities. Instructor Trainers are a plus! Position Overview We are hiring contract (1099) instructors to teach in?person skills sessions for American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED, Skill Boosts, and Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor led and blended learning courses. Classes are scheduled based on your availability, typically held in a variety of settings, with additional opportunities for mobile training across Washington State. - American Red Cross Certified Instructors (CPR, AED, First Aid, BLS)
- American Red Cross Instructor Trainers are a plus
- Instructors from other organizations (example:
AHA, HSI
) willing to bridge to ARC.
- We are strongly seeking individuals who have weekday morning/afternoon availability, have ARC teaching experience and have their own equipment.
- Professionals with strong communication skills, teaching ability, and a passion for emergency response education Pay Structure
- $125 per session for base level
- $300 per session for instructor level Direct deposit available via Zelle, Cash App, or Venmo immediately upon class completion.
Certification Requirements Required:
Current American Red Cross
- Instructor Certification in CPR/AED/First Aid and/or BLS
- Accepted: Instructor Certification from other organizations such as AHA, HSI and more (must meet ARC bridging requirements)
- Optional: American Red Cross Instructor Trainer Certification (strong plus) Equipment Expectations
- Preferred instructors possess equipment to train up to 12 students, including:
- Manikins (Adult and Pediatrics)
- AED Trainers
- Pocket Masks
- BVMs
- Laptop & projector
- Instructor teaching materials Training Locations
- Tacoma, WA (Primary Training Center)
- Lakewood, WA (Secondary Training Center)
- Federal Way, WA (NEW)
- Mobile training available statewide Instructor Duties
- Conduct American Red Cross CPR, AED, First Aid, and BLS classes
- Deliver engaging, accurate, and standards?based instruction
- Demonstrate proper CPR, AED, first aid, and emergency response techniques
- Evaluate participant performance and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain compliance with American Red Cross program requirements
- Create a positive, supportive learning environment
- Stay current with ARC guidelines and best practices Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong public speaking and communication skills
- Knowledge of CPR, First Aid, AED, and BLS procedures
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles
- Professionalism, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills
- Organizational skills for managing class materials and documentation
