We can hire two part-time workers or, if you are looking for full time, we could have one person take both shifts and have a paid lunch break and prep in between the shifts.

Breaker:

Gives teacher lunch breaks from 10am-2pm. You would be in 4 classrooms for one hour each. This would be mostly recess and lunch time. The children range in age from infant-6 years old. There are two teachers in each room, so you would not work alone when giving breaks.

Aftercare Assistant:

You would work with another staff member from 3pm-5:30pm providing supervision for the aftercare program. This program is a mixed age group of twenty students ages 2.5-6years old. The children are picked up throughout that time period. They will play outside, have an after school snack, and spend some time doing puzzles and art in the classroom. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in supervision and observation of the classroom. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping maintain a safe, organized environment. In a Montessori environment, the adults are asked to be in the background of the classroom, there to help when needed but mostly taking a back seat to the children's learning. We ask that adults come prepared to speak softly, not draw attention to themselves, move with care and purpose, and not interrupt the students' focus and concentration. Prepare classroom materials, prepare and serve snack, and some light cleaning Qualifications Prior experience working with children in early childhood education settings or childcare environment. 30 hours DCYF basic training (can be completed after hire but before start date) WA state Food Handler's Card Completion of a background check through MERIT (DCYF) Ability to manage behavior positively and adapt to diverse learning needs. Certification or coursework in early childhood education or related fields is a plus. Continued professional development is a requirement upon hire.
