Job Description

Job Summary Little Tigers Childcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing and educational environment for young children. This role involves assisting with the implementation of age-appropriate activities, providing individualized attention to children, and ensuring their overall well-being. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with the Lead Teacher to foster an environment that promotes early childhood development and positive learning experiences. Duties Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing daily lesson plans and activities that encourage children's physical, cognitive, and emotional growth. Communicate with the Lead Teacher and other staff about any observations or concerns regarding children's behavior, development, or health. Build positive relationships with parents, providing feedback about children's progress during pick-up or drop-off times as appropriate. Ensure the physical safety of all children by following daycare safety procedures and reporting any potential hazards or accidents. Be attentive to children's emotional needs, offering comfort and reassurance when necessary. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and workshops to enhance knowledge of child development and early childhood education practices. Stay current with daycare policies, procedures, and industry best practices. Provide individualized attention to children as needed, assisting with activities, meals, naps, and transitions. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times, maintaining a secure and supportive environment. Support the Lead Teacher in managing classroom behavior by implementing positive discipline strategies. Offer emotional support to children, guiding them through conflicts and fostering positive social interactions. Help maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment, ensuring that materials are age-appropriate and readily available. Assist with cleaning and sanitizing toys, surfaces, and materials according to health and safety standards. Help facilitate structured and unstructured activities, both indoors and outdoors, to support children's developmental milestones. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience working in a childcare or educational setting is preferred. Knowledge of early childhood education principles is a plus. Strong classroom management skills to create an engaging learning atmosphere. A passion for fostering a love of learning in young children through creative teaching strategies. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and staff.
