150 days [141 student days (M - Th), 5 paid holidays, and 4 assigned days]
HOURS:
7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (7.5 hours/day w/30 min. unpaid lunch)
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Pre-Kindergarten Paraprofessional supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. Working under the direction of the certified teacher, this position assists with implementing developmentally appropriate instructional activities that promote children's social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development. The paraprofessional provides individual and small-group support, helps maintain a positive classroom environment, supervises students during classroom and school activities, and assists with daily routines, including arrival, meals, toileting, transitions, and dismissal. This position fosters positive relationships with students, staff, and families while maintaining confidentiality and supporting the district's mission, policies, and the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS).
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree or higher is preferred. The ideal candidate demonstrates patience, flexibility, strong communication skills, and a genuine commitment to helping every child develop the foundational skills necessary for future academic and social success.
COMPENSATION
Base rate is $18.00/Hour
AVAILABLE BENEFITS
Eligible for prorated health, dental, vision, and long-term disability insurance. The District provides prorated paid time off and prorated paid holidays. The position qualifies for matching Wisconsin Retirement Pension System contributions.
