Bilingual Educational Assistant- Spanish

Job Description

DeForest Area School District is located just ten miles northeast of Madison in Dane County. We offer outstanding facilities and a competitive salary and benefits package. This is a school year position working 7.5 hours per day on days when school is in session. The current hours are 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; hours are subject to change based on building needs. This position will serve students at DeForest Area High School, serving grades 9-12. The primary responsibility of this position is to support students in the classroom and school, and act as a parent translator. The position may work one-on-one with students and assist with student testing. Position will work with a diverse population of students, may include extreme behaviors and various disabilities. Spanish speaking/writing required. Experience at the secondary level and strong skills working with second language learners preferred. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills; math and organizational skills; working knowledge of computers; good judgement and maintain strict confidentiality. Associate's degree preferred.
