Classroom Aide
Job Description
Primary responsibility is assisting teachers in implementing high quality early childhood programming for children and their families as detailed in the Head Start program performance standards. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe center and classroom environment. The classroom aide will assist staff in implementing positive guidance strategies to support the social and emotional development of children. The classroom aide will assist staff to ensure healthy and safe practices for children. The classroom aide will engage families in the program to support child's development and parent's role as child's first and most important educator. Classroom aide will follow all guidelines and procedures outlined in the "Licensing Rules for Group Day Care Centers". Classroom aide will work with assistant teachers, lead teachers and other center staff in classrooms of 15-19 children ages 3-5. Preferred CDA Early Childhood I and II Associate or Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education or degree in related field with experience teaching preschool.
