9680911-53154 Job Description Step into a fulfilling contract role supporting students as a paraprofessional for the 2026/2027 school year. This opportunity involves working full-time (35 hours per week) in vibrant educational environments alongside elementary, middle, and high school learners. Contribute to the success of students with special needs, including those with behavioral challenges and intellectual disabilities, and make a meaningful difference each day.
Key Qualifications:
Must hold or be eligible for an active paraprofessional certification through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI).
Educational requirement:
associate degree, 48 college credit hours, or a passing score on the WorkKeys exam (with exam reimbursement available). Experience or enthusiasm for working with diverse student populations, particularly individuals with special needs. Ability to manage and support students exhibiting various behaviors and learning challenges. Must provide a supervisor reference before interviewing.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs). Engage students with compassionate, proactive support in both classroom and community settings. Foster an inclusive learning environment that encourages growth, independence, and confidence. Assist with instructional activities, daily living skills, and behavioral interventions as needed. Help monitor student progress, communicate with staff/families, and ensure the safety and well-being of every learner.
