A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Job Description
We are seeking a fun, engaging and energetic person who has patience and compassion for assisting students in their learning, relationships, and getting them to engage with others. Paraprofessionals are an integral and crucial part of our school; they are the staff that help ensure we are able to provide our students the best support, education, and opportunity for success that we can offer. Those interested should be patient, calm, and willing to help students find their voice and manage their academic and emotional needs. This position is a school year position with days off when kids are out of school. Summer school opportunities may be available.
•Our paraprofessional positions are part time and do not qualify for benefits
•Hours per day: 5.75 Areas available: Supervision Special Education - Special Education paraprofessionals may offer our students support through: 1 to 1 tutoring and classroom support Behavioral support through breaks, strategies, and observations Self care and personal health support Executive functioning support in learning how to manage their own activities of daily living, organization, and time management Assisting in transitions from class to class The Oconomowoc Area School District offers a rigorous curriculum, award-winning programs, nationally certified staff, and opportunities for all students to reach their highest potential.
