Special Education Paraprofessional

Pay:

$19.00+ per hour Job description: Special Education Paraprofessional Lake Country Classical Academy is a public (tuition-free) charter school serving students in K-12 grade. Classical education is a "getting back to the basics" approach by providing a strong liberal arts foundation — a general knowledge in the four core subjects of literature, history, science and mathematics, as well as attention to performance in art and music. It requires a traditional learning environment using teacher-led instruction and ongoing teacher-student engagement. In addition, classical education provides further depth by teaching students the timeless skills of logic, critical thinking, and self-expression. We have a need for a Special Education Paraprofessional. This is a full-time position with a 10-month work schedule and standard hours of 7:45 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday and serves students at our Oconomowoc location. In this position, your primary role will be to support the provision of special education instructional and supportive activities pursuant to an individualized education program (IEP) under the direct supervision of a licensed teacher. Responsibilities also include supporting the lesson plan of the licensed teacher, providing technical assistance to the teacher and helping with general classroom management. Work with students may include lifting, feeding, self-help, and other services.

Minimum Qualifications:

Demonstrated competency in providing a variety of general special education support within a K through 12 structure. Experience collecting and recording accurate data. Ability to meet WI DPI requirements to obtain a Special Education Program Aide License.

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

WI Special Education Program Aide license (LCCA will assist in obtaining this license if needed) OR Valid WI teacher license.
