Perform a variety of duties in assisting a licensed teacher in the implementation and support of instructional programs for students in group or one-on-one settings. Prepare instructional materials, maintain classroom discipline, and lead planned activities designated by a licensed teacher. Help develop and maintain a positive school-wide learning environment. In order to qualify to be a substitute teacher in the State of Wisconsin, you must: Must hold an Associate Degree or higher and hold a valid WI Teaching or Substitute License with the WI Department of Public Instruction. Special Education Assistant Substitutes Position Summary of Substitute Special Education Assistants:

• Perform a variety of duties in assisting a licensed Special Education teacher in the implementation and support of instructional programs for students in group or one-on-one settings.
• Prepares instructional materials, maintains classroom discipline, and leads planned activities designated by a licensed teacher or SPED Aide.
• Helps maintain a positive school-wide learning environment.

In order to qualify to be a Substitute Special Education Assistant in the State of Wisconsin, you MUST meet the following qualifications: Pass a background check 18 years of age or older High School Diploma or GED required Submit a TB test/assessment form (More information provided during our training workshop.) Hold a Valid WI SPED Aide License through the WI DPI (If you do not have one, we will cover how to apply during our training workshop.)
