Job Description

Seymour Middle School is looking for a Full-Time Paraprofessional, to assist certified staff with students in educational environments to meet instructional goals and objectives.
Hours/Benefits:
This is a 9-month position. Health, dental and life insurance and the Wisconsin Retirement System is based on the amount of hours worked per week.
Performance Responsibilities:
Assist certified teaching staff with implementing classroom lessons, preparing teaching materials and other classroom instructions to maximize learning achievement. Work with students individually, in small groups, or whole groups to reinforce and re-teach learning and implement assigned programs. Assist students in non-instructional areas, such as the lunchroom, playground, bus duty, study hall, field trips and other related non-instructional areas. Maintain a productive learning environment by minimizing distractions and disruptions in the classroom. Assist students with activities of daily living such as toileting, feeding, maneuvering, hygiene, etc. Follow documentation protocol for student process, behaviors, and all other documentation required by certified teaching staff. Maintain communication and collaboration with certified teaching staff regarding schedules, student process and other necessary information. Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge. Implement individualized plans, including medication, IEPs, and other support as required. Maintain confidentiality with student records and follow all safety procedures. Support the needs of special education students and other special education staff. Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Building Principal.
