$10.00-$15.00 per hour Job Summary The Pre-K Assistant Teacher works alongside the Lead Teacher to support daily classroom activities, routines, and learning experiences. This position helps provide a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment where children can learn, grow, and develop. What You'll Do Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities, routines, and transitions. Support the implementation of the approved curriculum and age-appropriate activities. Help create an engaging classroom through learning materials, displays, artwork, and hands-on activities. Supervise children and support their safety, well-being, and individual needs. Assist with meals and snacks while supervising children. Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom and surrounding areas. Follow classroom standards, licensing requirements, and health and safety procedures. Communicate concerns regarding children's needs or development to the appropriate supervisor. Follow required procedures for reporting suspected child abuse or neglect. Attend staff meetings, training, planning, evaluations, and professional development opportunities. Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and employee information. Follow all Playmates policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Must be at least 18 years of age . High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, CDA, ACDS certificate, or equivalent preferred . CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain. ECCAT certification required, or willingness to obtain ECCAT certification if not currently certified. Ability to work well with others and follow directions. Positive, energetic, and caring attitude toward children and coworkers. Ability to support children and families through transitions. Knowledge of state standards, health, safety, sanitation, and childcare requirements. Basic computer skills. Ability and willingness to participate in continuing education and professional development. Ability to follow and support the approved curriculum.
