Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Teacher Assistant to join our educational team and support the learning and development of students with diverse needs. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social skills development Support students with disabilities, including those with autism spectrum disorders and behavioral challenges, by providing behavioral management and behavior support strategies Use American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods to facilitate effective interaction with students who have communication needs Provide physical assistance for students requiring mobility or classroom support in special education settings Help manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and classroom management strategies Collaborate with other professionals such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and counselors to support individualized education programs (IEPs) Support classroom activities for early childhood education programs such as preschool or Montessori-based classrooms, including toddler care and preschool routines Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to privacy policies in accordance with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Assist in lesson planning, curriculum development, and adapting instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs Requirements Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, especially within special education or early childhood programs Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques Experience working with students with disabilities, including those with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders Familiarity with behavior management strategies for students with behavioral disorders or special needs Ability to communicate effectively using verbal skills and American Sign Language (preferred) Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, therapists, parents, and other staff members Basic math skills and literacy education experience are advantageous Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and professionally Experience supporting students with IEPs and implementing individualized accommodations is preferred Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for fostering a positive learning environment Join us in creating an inspiring educational space where every student can thrive!
