Job Title Tutoring Coordinator Position Number P41408 Division Academic Affairs/Provost - ACA Department Falcon Success Center FLSA Exempt Salary Grade 207 Salary Classification Admin/Professional Annual Salary Range $32,798 - $44,929 Hourly Salary Range Employment Status Full Time 12 Mos Regular General Description The purpose of this position is to coordinate tutoring services in subject areas as needed for students at the University of Montevallo. The tutoring coordinator in the Falcon Success Center (FSC) is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, coordinating, and supervising quality tutors and services for academic success. Essential Job Duties Identify subject areas where there is a need for tutoring Collaborate with faculty and staff to recruit potential peer tutors Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate peer tutors who tutor in a variety of academic subjects and on a variety of topics such as note-taking, test preparation, time management, etc. that are identified through broad-based needs assessment Schedule peer tutors (one-on-one tutoring, group tutoring, and drop-in tutoring) both online and in-person Perform observations and write formal evaluations of peer tutors each semester Staff FSC front desk; train and supervise student assistants Manage and approve payroll for student staff Create and enforce policies for student staff at the FSC Manage the Center's appointment management software Track tutoring data and compile reports each semester Conduct outcomes assessment and use results to make continuous improvements to tutoring services Serve as co-advisor for Alpha Lambda Delta, the honor society for first-year academic success Attend preview days, orientation days, and other events as required to advertise tutoring services to current and prospective UM students Create and conduct classroom presentations to introduce students to the academic services provided in the Center Engage in appropriate professional development opportunities Other duties as assigned Additional Duties Essential Job Duties are intended to be examples of duties and are not intended to be all inclusive. Education and Experience The educational requirement for this position is: a Bachelor's Degree Education substituted for experience?
