Monday•Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; occasional afterhours for tutoring support.Job Summary:
The Tutoring Coordinator coordinates the delivery of tutoring programs for individuals and groups of students. Collaborates with campus partners and Capstone Center for Student Success (CCSS) colleagues to develop and implement a comprehensive array of tutorial and supplemental instruction programs and services to support academic success. Develops innovative and culturally relevant models for tutoring and new cross-campus partnerships in support of new tutoring-oriented initiatives.Additional Department Summary:
Works as a key member of the Capstone Center for Student Success team to plan, improve, and operationalize academic support programs and services for students. Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates peer tutors and peer educators. Manages and supervises student staff in the CCSS during business hours and some evening hours. Coordinates program delivery to enhance academic support and success of UA students. Participates in assessment efforts to identify programmatic needs and accountability for program success related to specified learning and operational outcomes. Develops and implements appropriate and effective marketing and communication strategies to promote programs, services, and activities to students served as well as campus-wide constituencies.Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of academic advising or student success experience; OR master's degree and some academic advising or student success experience.Skills and Knowledge:
Highly developed positive interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Knowledge of tutoring, student development, and learning theories. Strong organizational, multi-tasking, project management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in order to successfully perform essential tasks as well as manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Ability to collaborate with other units within Academic Affairs and Student Affairs to plan and implement programs to promote student success and enhance student retention. Ability to work and interact with undergraduate students, parents, faculty, staff, and administrators.Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, college student personnel, or related area. Experience working with a tutoring program or learning center. Experience hiring and supervising student staff.Background Investigation Statement:
