Job Summary Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring for America Reads Program Coaches positions to work as an America Reads tutor for the Read Better Be Better (RBBB) Program. Program Coaches oversee groups of up to 24-32 program participants, provide guidance and encouragement, ensure program quality, and foster a safe, positive learning environment. Coaches work alongside a partnering Read Better Be Better Program Coach and collaborate with young students, elementary school staff, and volunteers to support successful program delivery.

• Ensure RBBB program materials are prepared, in good repair, and ready for student arrival time. Facilitate Read Better Be Better reading activities included in the curriculum for the duration of each program session while ensuring that all RBBB procedures are followed. 20%
• Guide and support program participants. Maintain general communication with RBBB staff and certified staff at the assigned site to optimize student experience and performance. Effectively communicate program successes and challenges to the Program Coordinator. 10%
• Attend weekly Coach meetings.

Attend all-team mandatory meetings at RBBB headquarters each semester. Perform all other duties as assigned that are required of the employee in this job. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Minimum of six (6) college credit hours completed AND enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours in fall and spring Desired Qualifications Experience or demonstrated interest in working with elementary-aged children in an educational setting. The ability to communicate effectively with young children. Prior experience as a tutor, particularly with elementary-aged children.

This job is on an off-site location, not the EMCC Campus. Your working location will be at a public school in the West Valley. We will do our best to place you at a school that is conveniently located based on your location. Valid IVP fingerprint clearance card (or the ability to obtain one before starting). RBBB provides guidance on completing the AZDPS application and fingerprinting process and can cover associated fees upfront or via reimbursement.
