Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualized, one-on-one all-subjects tutoring tailored to the student's academic needs, coursework, and learning objectives Deliver clear, structured instruction across all 8th-grade core subjects , with strong knowledge of the academic concepts and skills expected at this grade level Provide academic support in Math, English/Language Arts, Science, History, Geography, and other core 8th-grade subjects as needed Apply teaching methods that are appropriate for the BASIS curriculum and the student's academic requirements Teach concepts thoroughly and build academic skills rather than simply assisting with homework completion Explain challenging concepts through clear, organized, practical, and easy-to-follow teaching methods Develop and utilize individualized lesson plans, practice activities, and supplemental learning materials based on the student's coursework and areas requiring improvement Adapt instructional strategies and lesson delivery according to the student's learning pace, strengths, academic needs, and areas for improvement Monitor the student's academic progress, identify learning gaps, and adjust instruction to promote continued academic development Maintain a firm, structured, and engaging tutoring environment that keeps the student focused and actively involved throughout each session Encourage strong study habits, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and independent learning Travel to and conduct in-person tutoring sessions at the assigned location in Paradise Valley, Phoenix, AZ 85253 Maintain regular communication with the coordinator regarding student progress, attendance, and scheduling updates Maintain efficiency, preparedness, and professionalism throughout all scheduled tutoring hours

Schedule:

12 hours per week Monday through Thursday or Saturday and Sunday, with flexibility to adjust the schedule based on the student's progress and tutoring needs 4 days per week during weekdays 3-hour tutoring sessions per day Sessions will be scheduled between 4:00 PM-7:00

PM Qualifications:

Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, or providing academic support Strong knowledge and proficiency in all 8th-grade core subjects Familiarity with the BASIS curriculum Ability to explain challenging academic concepts in a clear, structured, and easy-to-understand manner Ability to teach concepts and develop academic skills rather than simply assist with homework completion Strong ability to maintain student focus, engagement, and participation throughout tutoring sessions Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Firm, structured, patient, reliable, and dedicated to supporting student success Reliable transportation for attending in-person tutoring sessions Ability to maintain professionalism, consistency, punctuality, and efficiency during scheduled tutoring hours
