About CITY Center for Collaborative Learning CITY Center for Collaborative Learning designs, implements, and advances innovations in teaching and learning that transform the lives of young people and their educators. The Tucson-based nonprofit offers professional development and community engagement experiences for educators and education advocates, while leading three small secondary schools that serve as demonstration sites. Education Assistant/Academic Tutor Summary We are seeking an Education Assistant to support high school and middle school students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure academic success with general education coursework. Provide inclusive support for students in general education classrooms and reteach concepts during small group study times. Work in close collaboration with the certified Inclusion Specialist and general education teachers to differentiate instruction.
Specific functions include:
Assist with work completion and reteaching of concepts taught in general education courses, including all levels of high school and middle school math, science and English Language Arts Provide accommodations and modifications as outlined in students' IEPs Work with students in general education classrooms, small groups and one-on-one Utilize positive behavioral support strategies and develop positive relationships with students and staff Participate with instructional staff in professional development Work collaboratively with general education teachers in co-planning and teaching to meet the needs of all learners Qualifications Associates degree (or higher) required Experience in working with children in school or non-school settings Demonstrated success as a reliable and collaborative employee Strong work ethic, interpersonal skills, initiative and independence Demonstrable knowledge of math curriculum through Algebra II Ability to be self-directed and anticipate student needs

$37,500 to $42,000 depending on experience
