About the student 4th grade student The student needs to work with a tutor for support with math and writing. The student is a 4th grader attending Sierra View Elementary who needs additional academic support in math and writing. His family is looking for a tutor who can help him strengthen his understanding of both subjects, keep up with his current schoolwork, and build greater confidence in his academic skills. For math, tutoring should reinforce areas such as multiplication and division, fractions, decimals, place value, multi-step word problems, geometry, measurement, and other concepts from his current coursework. For writing, the tutor should help the student develop stronger sentence structure, grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary, paragraph organization, and the ability to clearly develop and communicate his ideas. The goal is for the student to improve his math and writing skills. The family wants 1 hour sessions once a week, between 4pm-6pm, on Tuesday or Thursday. The family is seeking a tutor who can meet at the local Boys & Girls Club at 601 Wall Street in Chico. Qualifications Ideal candidates have prior experience working with elementary school students. Ideal candidates will have prior experience teaching/tutoring math and ELA. Ideal candidates will be a credentialed teacher. Willing to travel within your preferred local radius to meet the student (typically 5-10 miles) Due to insurance requirements, applicants must not be a minor. Student Availability
