Job Description

Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic educator to provide personalized 1-on-1 instruction to students with ADHD and autism, as well as mentor neurotypical middle school students. This role is vital in fostering a supportive learning environment and promoting academic and personal growth.
Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized educational sessions to students with ADHD and autism. Mentor and support neurotypical middle school students in their academic and personal development. Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning needs and styles. Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and adjusting strategies as necessary. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and specialists to ensure cohesive support for each student's educational journey. Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and participation.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field. Experience working with students with ADHD and autism. Strong mentoring and interpersonal skills with a passion for working with middle school students. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to develop and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs. Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. We require a commitment of at least 15 hours/week for the full school year. A full time role may also be available for a qualified candidate. $33-$40/hour AJ Tutoring and Cypress College Prep are sister organizations that share space in downtown Menlo Park. AJ offers 1-on-1 tutoring to middle and high schoolers after school, while Cypress offers a fully accredited school during regular school hours.
