Job Summary:

The Bilingual On-Site Math Tutor supports United We Lead Foundation's after-school academic intervention program at Pixley Union School District by providing small-group and individualized mathematics instruction to students in grades 6-8. This role focuses on creating an engaging, supportive, and structured in-person learning environment that strengthens math skills, addresses unfinished learning, and builds student confidence. The tutor will also support attendance, progress monitoring, family communication, and overall program implementation. As a part-time Math Tutor you will:

• Facilitate in-person small-group and one-on-one math tutoring sessions for students in grades 6-8.
• Provide targeted support in areas such as fractions, ratios, equations, algebra readiness, problem solving, homework support, and grade-level math skills.
• Engage and motivate students while maintaining a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.
• Utilize UWLF's curriculum, instructional materials, assessments, and teaching tools effectively during each session.
• Monitor, evaluate, and document student progress and communicate updates to the program supervisor.
• Take accurate attendance and follow program procedures for student participation and progress monitoring.
• Communicate with students, families, and school staff as needed to support consistent attendance and student success.
• Provide bilingual support to students and families when needed.
• Participate in required onboarding, training, planning, and program meetings.
• Maintain professionalism and follow all UWLF and district policies while working onsite.

Requirements:

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written preferred).
• Experience working with middle school students in tutoring, instructional support, after-school, or educational settings.
• Strong mathematics skills and the ability to explain concepts in a clear, student-friendly manner.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• A results-driven, adaptable, and collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, follow established curriculum and procedures, and meet program expectations.
• Reliable transportation and ability to report consistently to the assigned school site in Pixley, California.
• Passionate about education and empowering students, especially underserved communities.
• Ability to complete any district-required onboarding, background clearance, or training before providing services. Mission Alignment

Training and Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a teacher, instructional aide, tutor, or in a similar student-support role preferred.
• A bachelor's degree or at least 60 college credits in education, mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience supporting middle school mathematics instruction is strongly preferred.
