This is a customer-facing position , so extraordinary customer service, professionalism, communication, and a welcoming attitude toward students and families are essential. We are looking for someone who is dependable, takes initiative, can think on their feet, and is comfortable stepping into different responsibilities as needs arise. Prior experience working in a school, classroom, tutoring center, or other teaching/education environment would be greatly beneficial.
Primary Responsibilities:
Open the center and ensure classrooms, testing materials, and instructional areas are prepared before students arrive. Provide extraordinary customer service and maintain a welcoming, professional environment for students and families. Communicate professionally with parents regarding student needs, academic concerns, progress, and assessment results when appropriate. Conduct student progress testing and new-student assessments, including: KTEA-3 assessments (paper-based) WJV assessments (digital) Assist with explaining assessment and progress results to parents and identifying areas where students may need additional academic support. Think independently and develop solutions on the spot when student, parent, scheduling, or classroom situations arise. Provide strong classroom management and help ensure students remain engaged, productive, and appropriately supported. Be willing to jump in and tutor or substitute wherever instructor coverage is needed. Help manage student and instructor flow during busy periods. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional center, including classrooms, instructional materials, testing areas, and common spaces. Communicate important student concerns, parent feedback, and center updates to the Director. Assist with other day-to-day center needs as they arise.
Schedule Requirement:
Reliable availability Tuesday through Thursday from 2:30 PM-4:30 PM is required , as opening and early-afternoon coverage is a definite staffing need for the center. Hours may be extended beyond 4:30 PM, potentially through our 6:30 PM closing time , depending on the candidate's availability and the center's staffing needs. Additional hours and scheduling will be discussed during the interview.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a school, classroom, tutoring, teaching, or other education-related setting is highly preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with parents and students. Excellent customer service skills and a professional demeanor. Ability to take initiative and problem-solve without needing constant direction. Comfortable administering assessments and learning established testing procedures. Strong classroom management skills. Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
