Position Overview:

We are seeking part-time tutors to provide one-on-one tutoring for high school students at our Sacramento location. Tutoring sessions will vary between students and may be held in-person at our office or online via Google Meets. Hours are based on student need and staff skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background and experience working with high school students in a tutoring or teaching capacity and be well-rounded in all subject areas.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one tutoring for students in high school. Develop personalized lesson plans tailored to each student's learning needs and goals. Create engaging and interactive activities to reinforce concepts. Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly to ensure comprehension and academic growth. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and any concerns. Utilize a variety of instructional materials and resources to enhance learning experiences. Keep accurate records of tutoring sessions and student achievements. Assist in tracking data for students and the overall program

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Math, English, Child Development or related field. Previous experience working with high school students in a tutoring or teaching capacity. Strong knowledge of high school Math, English and Science curriculum and instructional strategies. Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred but not required). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed. Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of each student. Background check and TB test will be required.

Schedule/Availability :

It is preferable for staff to have open availability during the hours of 2pm-8pm Monday-Friday and 10am-5pm Saturday/Sunday. However, tutoring sessions are appointment based and depend on the students' requested schedule. Tutoring sessions will be held during after-school hours and may be in-person or online.
