Writing Tutor

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Writing Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves working closely with students grades K through 12 in one-on-one and small group settings. Our goal is to enhance their writing skills through evidence-based, structured writing that builds foundational skills. Schedule/Location The ability to travel to homes or libraries within San Mateo County. Available after school. Available on weekends is a plus. Requirements Experience teaching writing to K-12 students using structured, sequential and organized methodologies Strong systematic writing instruction approaches

Bonus:

familiarity with The Writing Revolution methodology Experience working with students in a 1:1 or small group setting. Strong skills in lesson planning and behavior management. A genuine passion for teaching and helping students succeed academically. Undergraduate degree Duties Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to individual student needs. Teach writing skills in a systematic, sequential approach that builds upon foundational concepts Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary to meet diverse learning styles. Foster a love for learning by incorporating fun and interactive activities into tutoring sessions. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.

Pay:

$100.00 - $130.00 per hour
