Fluency in the French language is required. A university degree in French plus at least two years of tutoring/teaching experience is preferred. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in the French language Design and implement individualized lesson plans that cater to each student's unique learning style, goals, and proficiency level in French Adapt instructional approaches to meet the needs of students For elementary school aged children, use games, hand-puppets and other visual aids to encourage speaking in French For high school aged students, help complete homework assignments and prepare for classroom tests/quizzes Reteach the classroom material while helping answer questions on assignments or test review sheets Give advice to students regarding what they could do better both in regard to the material itself and study habits Speak with parents following each tutoring session regarding student progress and study recommendations Report student progress and study recommendations in a brief email to the company following each session Foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes student participation and motivation Requirements Fluency in the French language required Proven experience in tutoring or teaching foreign languages, especially French, with a focus on early childhood education or preschool experience preferred A bachelors or masters degree in French preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey concepts to students of varying abilities, including young learners Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed
