Primary Purpose:
Coordinate with
NSU MD MBS
program staff to review content and provide supplemental instruction, mentoring, and academic guidance to MBS students.

No Essential Job Functions:
  • Coordinate with MBS program staff and course directors to review content and provide supplemental instruction in an interactive classroom setting for MBS students.
  • Facilitate large group learning sessions with MBS students.
  • Offer guidance on learning, test-taking, and study strategies related to coursework.
  • Provide individual or small group tutoring sessions for MBS students as needed.
Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge:
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; database and data entry skills.
  • A deep understanding of the content or field of study related to the graduate program, such as academic theories and key concepts.
  • Understanding how to adapt and modify learning materials and assignments to meet the specific needs of graduate students.
Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Zoom and with working with remote students.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills, including calendar and event management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Information gathering and monitoring skills; including the ability to prepare reports, while maintaining confidentiality.
Abilities:
  • Ability to be reliable and dependable.
  • Ability to relate to individuals from diverse educational, cultural, and social backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels
  • Ability to assist with the creation of PowerPoint presentations.

Required Experience:
Current MBS Program students (or MBS alumni), AA, PA, DO, MD, Optometry, or Dental Program students who have successfully completed Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Physiology courses with a grade of A
  • or higher.
