Job Description

Bee the Change is growing in Jacksonville, and we're seeking highly experienced educators and tutors who know how to connect with students, build confidence, and make learning click. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity for seasoned education professionals who enjoy working one-on-one with students and understand that every learner brings different strengths, challenges, and ways of processing information. The Opportunity You'll provide personalized, in-home academic support to students throughout Jacksonville and surrounding communities. Assignments may range from elementary and middle school academics to high school coursework, depending on your background and areas of expertise. The students we serve bring a wide range of learning styles and needs, including students navigating ADHD, autism, dyslexia, executive functioning challenges, IEPs/504 Plans, and other learning differences. Our approach is personal by design. Tutors meet students where they are, adapting instruction to the individual while helping them strengthen skills, work through academic challenges, and become more confident, independent learners. What You'll Do Provide one-on-one tutoring in students' homes Support students in subjects and grade levels aligned with your expertise Adapt instruction to each student's learning style, needs, and academic goals Reinforce classroom concepts while strengthening study and problem-solving skills Build positive, professional relationships with students and families Communicate reliably regarding scheduling and student progress Travel directly to students' homes for all tutoring sessions Required Qualifications Please review these requirements carefully before applying: Minimum of 10 years of professional teaching and/or tutoring experience Demonstrated experience working directly with students in an academic setting Strong subject-matter knowledge in one or more academic areas Ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles and student needs Professional, dependable, patient, and engaging approach Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the Jacksonville area Willingness and ability to travel to students' homes for 100% of assigned tutoring sessions Consistent after-school, evening, and/or weekend availability Strong communication skills with students, parents, and our team A bachelor's degree is preferred. Florida teaching certification is welcomed but not required for all tutoring opportunities.

Competitive compensation:
Tutors earn $50 per hour for general academic tutoring , with higher rates available for select specialized services including ACT and SAT preparation.
