Job Description
We are looking for a warm, dependable, and engaging Homeschool Tutor/Nanny to work one-on-one with a 6-year-old child in Key West. This is a unique position combining homeschool support, tutoring, and nanny/childcare responsibilities . The ideal candidate has previous teaching, tutoring, early childhood education, or homeschool experience and genuinely enjoys making learning fun and engaging. The anticipated schedule is Monday through Thursday, approximately 9:00 AM-3:00 PM , with some flexibility. There may also be opportunities for additional evening babysitting hours from time to time. The parent will select and oversee the homeschool curriculum and overall educational plan. This position is intended to provide one-on-one assistance implementing that curriculum, completing lessons and assignments, reinforcing concepts, and incorporating creative and hands-on learning throughout the day. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one homeschool instruction and assistance Work through planned curriculum, lessons, workbooks and assignments Assist with reading, writing, spelling, math and other age-appropriate subjects Create fun, hands-on educational activities and projects Help maintain a positive and consistent homeschool routine Provide nanny/childcare throughout the day Prepare simple lunches and snacks for the child Incorporate outdoor activities, swimming, crafts, games and educational outings Help keep the child's school and activity areas organized Provide occasional evening babysitting when mutually agreed upon Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching, tutoring, homeschool, nanny or early childhood education experience CPR/First-Aid Certified Experience working with elementary-age children Patient, positive and enthusiastic about learning Dependable, responsible and comfortable working independently Creative and able to make learning engaging Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Comfortable with swimming and outdoor activities Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred Ability to incorporate conversational Spanish and structured Spanish lessons into the homeschool week is a major plus Teaching credentials are welcome but not required . We are more interested in finding someone with relevant experience who is wonderful with children, comfortable teaching one-on-one, and can become a consistent and trusted part of our weekly routine.
