ESE K-8 Reading and Math Tutor Jump Start Tutoring Center - 1.0 Miami, FL Job Details Part-time | Contract $22 - $28 an hour 18 hours ago Qualifications School experience Spanish Experience teaching math Bachelor's degree Working with students Full Job Description About Jump Start Tutors Jump Start Tutors is a South Florida-based educational services company that has supported families, schools, and school districts for the past 8 years. We work with K-12 students across public and private school settings throughout South Florida, providing academic intervention, tutoring, and personalized student support. We are currently expanding our team of tutors to support ESE students in Miami-Dade County , with a particular focus on reading, math, foundational skills, and individualized academic support. Position Overview Jump Start Tutors is hiring ESE tutors to provide in-person academic support to K-12 students in Miami-Dade County. Tutors will work with students who may have learning differences, IEPs, developmental needs, behavioral needs, or require additional academic intervention and individualized support. Sessions may be provided one-on-one or in small groups , depending on the student and school assignment. We are looking for tutors who are patient, dependable, encouraging, and comfortable adapting instruction to meet different student needs.
Schedule Tutoring opportunities are available:
Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-2:00 PM and/or Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM-7:00 PM Candidates do not need to be available for both time blocks, but consistent weekly availability is required . All current opportunities are in person. Responsibilities Provide individualized reading and/or math support to K-12 students Work with ESE students and students with different academic, behavioral, or learning needs Adapt instruction based on student ability, learning style, and individual goals Support reading, math, foundational skills, and academic intervention Follow student learning plans and instructional guidance provided Help students build academic confidence and independence Maintain accurate attendance, progress notes, and session records Communicate clearly with Jump Start Tutors regarding student progress, attendance, and concerns Follow school and Jump Start Tutors policies and procedures Arrive on time and maintain a consistent weekly tutoring schedule Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree Experience working with K-12 students Experience working with ESE students, students with learning differences, or students requiring additional academic/behavioral support Strong reading and/or math skills Reliable transportation for in-person assignments Availability during school-day and/or after-school hours Strong communication and interpersonal skills Professional, patient, and dependable Ability to complete required background screening and fingerprinting Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule Preferred Qualifications Degree or coursework in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, English, Math, or a related field Teaching, tutoring, paraprofessional, behavior technician, or classroom experience Experience working with students with IEPs Reading and/or math intervention experience Experience with students with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or other learning differences Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus Why Join Jump Start Tutors?
