Job Description

Consistent hours, convenient location (no in-home), curriculum and lesson plans provided. KnowledgePoints has developed an excellent reputation and has become a trusted name for many families in Pasco and northern Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties. Come work in a fun environment with a team of great people! KnowledgePoints is hiring part-time instructors for our basic skills (K-12 reading, writing or math) and SAT/ACT Prep programs at our Trinity location. We are primarily looking for current or retired (professional) teachers , or those pursuing an Education degree to become a teacher. This is not a position for high school students, those who have only tutored friends and family, or even professional teachers who have not taught Reading/English. Currently we have a particular need for someone who can work at least some Saturday mornings . We are a little different! We are a professional tutoring center that employs tutors (W-2) year-round. All tutoring takes place in our center, so there is no unpaid travel time or excessive gas/mileage expense. Some of our tutors work as few as 5-6 hours per week, while we have others that work as many as 20+ hours per week . We take the time up front to understand how much our tutors want to work and when they are available, and then we schedule them within those parameters. We never schedule a tutor unless we can give them at least 2 consecutive hours. For current full-time teachers, we can work with you to find a schedule that will fit with your school schedule without "overdoing it." All tutoring is individualized - we never exceed a 2:1 student ratio. We handle all parent communication, scheduling, student testing and session planning, allowing our tutors to spend ALL of their time doing what they enjoy most - teaching students!
To Qualify You Must Have:
Professional Reading or English teaching/tutoring experience A passion for working with children Strong interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills Bachelors Degree preferred (Associate's acceptable if working on an Education-related degree) •We only consider local candidates within a reasonable (30 minutes or less) commute. Our tutoring shifts can be as short as 2-3 hours at times, making a long commute challenging financially. Please include resume with your response. For candidates who plan to relocate to the area, please just reach out to us at trinity@knowledgepoints.com when your relocation is complete.
