Help students build confidence, stronger skills, and better academic habits. Coastal Academic is looking for dependable, engaging tutors who enjoy working one-on-one and in small groups with elementary, middle school, and high school students. This role is focused on academic support, reading, writing, math foundations, homework support, study skills, and helping students become more confident and organized learners. This is a local, in-person tutoring opportunity serving families in the Ponte Vedra Beach and Nocatee area. Coastal Academic is preparing to open a learning center, and we are building our local tutor network for student opportunities beginning around the August school-year launch. This role is a strong fit for teachers, experienced tutors, education majors, graduate students, retired educators, or subject-matter experts who enjoy helping students understand challenging material, stay organized, and make steady academic progress. Areas of Interest We are especially interested in tutors with strength in one or more of the following areas: SAT/ACT Reading, English, or Writing Elementary reading and math foundations Middle school math, reading, writing, and homework support High school academic support English, reading comprehension, grammar, and writing Study skills, organization, and executive-function support Middle school science or general science support is a plus General academic coaching for students who need structure, confidence, or skill-building Tutors do not need to teach every subject or grade level listed. Why Tutors Work With Coastal Academic Flexible afternoon, evening, and weekend opportunities Choose the subjects and grade levels that fit your strengths Work with local students in a professional learning environment Recommended curriculum resources provided Opportunity to grow with a local academic company Contractor Services May Include Provide in-person tutoring for students in agreed-upon subject areas Support reading, writing, math, science, homework completion, study skills, or general academic coursework based on your expertise Help students strengthen skills, confidence, organization, and academic habits Adapt instruction to the student's current level, goals, and learning needs Provide brief progress notes or updates when requested Maintain a professional, structured, and encouraging learning environment Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred; strong current degree candidates in education, English, math, science, psychology, or related fields may also be considered Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or instructing students Strong knowledge in one or more academic support areas Reliable transportation to the Ponte Vedra Beach / Nocatee area Professional, dependable, punctual, and engaging with students Willingness to complete onboarding requirements, including background check, W-9, and independent contractor agreement Schedule Tutors provide their availability and may accept student opportunities that fit their schedule and subject strengths. Highest demand is typically after school, evenings, and weekends. Daytime availability may also be helpful for homeschool students, summer programs, and special academic support needs. Student opportunities vary based on demand, subject fit, availability, and scheduling.
