Job Description

City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Responsibilities Provide in-class academic support in math and literacy Offer one-on-one and small group tutoring to students Build strong, mentoring relationships with students Support classroom routines and a positive learning environment Track and report student progress and attendance data Collaborate with school staff and City Year teammates Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and reflection Engage families and community in student support efforts Required Skills Student support strategies Classroom management support Tutoring (math & literacy) Data tracking and reporting Mentoring and youth development Basic behavior intervention Communication (students/families) Team collaboration Time management Basic technology/Google Suite
