Job Description

We are seeking: A nurturing, fun, super positive, and very organized part-time private tutor for our daughter, who is entering 12th grade and takes classes virtually through Florida Virtual School (FLVS). Our daughter has an autoimmune disorder that results in physical illness as well as learning disabilities such as ADD (inattentive type) and slow processing speed. She is very bright, funny, and kind, and thrives with patient, engaging one-on-one help that builds structure and motivation.
Hours:
Monday through Thursday ~3.5 hours per day (ideally late morning or early afternoon, but we are flexible on exact times/days)
Pay:
$25 per hour
Job Description:
We're looking for a part-time tutor to help Amelia successfully navigate her 12th grade FLVS coursework in English, and three other elective classes. FLVS provides the lessons, but Amelia needs help engaging with them. Specifically, we're seeking someone who can: Talk through lessons with her in a supportive, positive way Take notes for her during study sessions Take turns reading assignments and writing papers Help her stay motivated and focused Support her with organization, time management, study and test-taking strategies Assist with Google Docs and other online tools This is not a subject-expert-only role—it's about being a collaborative learning partner who can make the material accessible, fun, and structured.
Ideal Qualities and Experience:
Patient, caring, upbeat, and creative Strong organizational and planning skills Confident in helping with 12th -grade level English and writing assignments Able to support three other elective classes. Comfortable with Google Docs and online schooling platforms Prior tutoring or teaching experience is a plus (but not required if you're a good fit personally) A little about
