Job Description

The Tutoring Center, Dallas GA, specializes in helping students master academic skills and increase their concentration spans. We are seeking tutors who are passionate and enthusiastic about working with children in grades K-12 in Reading, Writing, and Math, including Algebra and Geometry. All of our staff are committed to Integrity, Quality, Enthusiasm, Service, and Teamwork. Please see the requirements for each position given below.
Qualifications Academic Strength:
High proficiency in Math (up to Algebra 2) and English (Phonics, Reading, and Writing).
Communication:
Ability to engage K-12 students in a one-to-one setting using provided curriculum.
Background:
Must pass a comprehensive background check. Availability & Hours To maintain consistency for our students, candidates must meet the following availability:
Days:
Monday through Thursday.
Hours:
3:30 PM - 7:30 PM.
Total:
8-20 hours per week (No outside work/prep required). Include Resume with start availability
Responsibilities Instructional Approach Tailored Delivery:
Adapt provided curriculum and lesson plans in real-time to match the student's specific learning pace, grade level (K-12), and unique academic needs.
Socratic Guidance:
Use the provided materials as a foundation to ask probing questions, encouraging students to arrive at conclusions independently rather than simply providing answers.
Immediate Feedback Loop:
Provide instant, constructive corrections and praise during the session, ensuring misconceptions are addressed before they become habits.
Student Engagement & Development Rapport Building:
Establish a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable taking academic risks and asking questions.
Motivation & Focus:
Employ age-appropriate strategies to keep students engaged, whether it's using gamified elements for younger learners or goal-oriented coaching for high schoolers.
Confidence Building:
Help students bridge the gap between their current knowledge and the provided material, fostering a "growth mindset" through incremental wins.
Operational Efficiency Zero-Prep Execution:
Demonstrate the ability to quickly synthesize provided materials and deliver high-quality instruction with no outside planning time.
Progress Tracking:
Maintain accurate notes on student performance during the session to ensure continuity for future meetings or for parent/coordinator updates.
Multidisciplinary Flexibility:
Comfortably pivot between different subjects and grade levels as required by the specific student's needs and the provided curriculum.

$15.00 - $20.00 per hour
