Huge discounts on our services for your family. The Role We are seeking experienced writing coaches for our after-school academic support program (Grades 1-12). You will facilitate both 1:1 sessions and small group classes (3-5 students) in person and online.Core Responsibilities:
Guiding students through a cumulative writing curriculum (style, structure, grammar, and vocabulary). Strengthening CER (Claim, Evidence, Reasoning) writing skills. Improving reading fluency, comprehension, and stamina through adaptive literacy programs. Mentoring students through creative storytelling and book publishing processes. Teaching creative, informative, and persuasive writing via New York Times curricula. Coaching contest writing for students entering their works into competitions. Navigating high school students through college application essays.Requirements & Logistics Education:
Bachelor's degree required.Experience:
1+ year of teaching/tutoring experience (Language Arts focus, up to 8th grade preferred).Technology:
Proficiency in Google Suite; access to reliable internet and a computer capable of managing virtual classrooms/screen sharing.In-Person Commitment:
Must provide at least 6 hours of in-person availability (Mon-Thu, 4:00-8:00 p.m. CT). Must be able to work on-site at our Glenview, IL location (2200 Lehigh Ave)Background:
Must pass a background check and drug test (if applicable).Compensation & Schedule Pay:
Starting at $25.00/hour, plus paid trainingSchedule:
1-15 hours/week, depending on student enrollment.Travel:
