Job Description
Position Description:
The Student Support Services Peer Tutor serves as a peer tutor primarily for the Student Support Services program with services also available to any Barton student.Note:
Employment is limited to 20 hours per week during the academic year.Position Responsibilities:
49.00%- Provide tutorial assistance to students in general education. 21.00%
- Provide tutorial assistance to students in technical areas. 20.00%
- Provide peer mentoring of study skills. 5.00%
- Maintain accurate account of student contact information to provide grant documentation. 5.00%
- Complete ten hours of tutor training per semester.
Expectations:
Demonstrate knowledge of tutoring techniques. Students assisted by peer tutors will benefit academically from tutoring in their coursework.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience- Previous tutoring experience is not required. Education
- Must have met high academic standards in the areas which they tutor and have been recommended by two previous instructors. Other Skills
- Interpersonal skills, computer knowledge and customer service skills.
