Job Description

This position is paid from ESS allocations, so it is funded for the 2026-2027 school year only.

WAIVER Announcement:

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Bullitt County Public Schools is requesting a waiver to fill this position before the standard 15-day posting period to ensure we are fully staffed for the upcoming school year. Assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups; monitor and report student progress.

Position Details Hours:

3 hours per day

Contract Length:

154 student instructional days

Contract Adjustments:

Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date

Employment Status:

Part time (not eligible for benefits)

Employment Type:

10-month employee on the classified pay schedule

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

Must have at least 64 college credits and a 2.5 GPA.

Documentation:

Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.

Compensation & Experience Credit

2026-2027 Pay Scale

Starting Pay (Step 0): $24.63/hour Experienced Pay (Step 10): $26.97/hour

We value experience! Previous experience working with students, intervention systems, and small-group instruction is strongly desired.

New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience.

The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.

Payroll Note:

While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.

Salary Formula:

Hours per day × Hourly rate = Daily rate Daily rate × Contracted days = Annual salary. Annual salary ÷ Remaining pay periods = Gross biweekly pay
