Roxbury Community College's Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program is seeking a dedicated Nursing Tutor to provide embedded academic support for our Maternal & Newborn Concepts course. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced nursing professional to shape future clinicians through direct, personalized instruction ? all while enjoying a flexible, part-time schedule that fits around your life. As part of RCC's Academic Support team, you'll work hand-in-hand with students, faculty, and staff to help nursing students build confidence, master challenging material, and succeed in one of the most critical courses in their program. What You'll Do Provide one-on-one and drop-in tutoring in a hybrid (in-person/remote) format Help students build strong, lasting study habits Lead focused exam preparation sessions Track and document student progress through regular reporting Collaborate closely with faculty, staff, and the Coordinator of Learning Resources Participate in tutor training and ongoing supervisor check-ins Perform duties in accordance with the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement You'll report to the Director of Academic Support and work in close partnership with the Coordinator of Learning Resources giving you a collaborative, well supported environment to do meaningful work.
Requirements:
What You Bring Education & Certification BSN or MSN in Nursing (or current enrollment in an MSN program with graduation expected within 5 years) from a regionally accredited U.S. institution Current Nurse Educator certification from a recognized certifying body Licensure Active, unencumbered Massachusetts RN license Experience 5+ years of in-patient nursing experience preferred Recent specialty experience in Maternity nursing Background in urban, multicultural higher education, lab, or clinical settings Familiarity with varied teaching modalities, including simulation and online learning Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Comfort learning new software/tools as needed Availability for evenings and weekends Valid, unencumbered
The salary will be determined based on the guidelines and procedures of Massachusetts Community College System and collective bargaining agreement.
