Salary:
$25/hour for individuals without a Massachusetts teaching certification $35/hour for individuals with a Massachusetts teaching certification
Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority:
Directly responsible to the Director of Alternative Education and/or Director of Special Education. Directly responsible to the Principal in all matters related to the building. Responsible for instructional and general duties as indicated by the directives of the Superintendent of Schools, and policies of the Marlborough School Committee.
Statement of Duties:
A staff person employed by the school district who provides individualized or small group instruction for students who need assistance in learning one or more components of a prescribed curriculum. Tutoring usually supplements a regular school program. Tutor will work closely with counselor and/or classroom teachers to ensure comprehension of concepts so that students are able to maintain progress in their educational programs while learning. Responsible for other general duties as indicated by the Principal, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Marlborough School Committee.
Qualifications:
Licensed as a teacher by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education highly preferred. Minimum of Associate's Degree and/or 48 College or University Credits.
