About the student 6th grade student The student needs to work with a tutor for support with reading and math. The family would like a tutor who has experience working with special education students. The student has an IEP. She has cerebral palsy, ADHD, and is in occupational therapy for her hand writing. She is in a mainstream class and needs a skilled tutor. The student is a 6th grader at Kennedy Middle School who needs to work with a tutor for support with her education, mostly reading comprehension and math. The student mostly struggles with her hand writing. She doesn't write very well (in therapy for it) and it has caused her to fall behind and struggle with her math and ELA classes. The family wants a tutor to give the student extra support and practice in hopes of building confidence and improvement. They have NO materials and are open for the tutor to suggest more. The goal is for the student to work with the tutor on an ongoing basis to make sure that in the short term that she does well on SATs and int he long term she gets into college. The family wants 1 hour sessions 2 times a week between 4:30pm-7pm on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday. The family is seeking a tutor who can meet at their home in Natick in-between the Verve Hotel and KOHR Golf Center. Qualifications Ideal candidates have prior experience working with elementary and/or middle school students. Ideal candidates will have prior experience teaching/tutoring ELA and math. Ideal candidates will have a teaching certification. Willing to travel within your preferred local radius to meet the student (typically 5-10 miles) Due to insurance requirements, applicants must not be a minor. Student Availability
