Experienced Writing Tutor, ages 10-adult, Newton & Lexington

Overview Looking for an excellent and experienced Writing Specialist who has worked with children ages 11-17. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in writing and critical thinking. This role involves helping students of various capabilities enjoy writing while building skills. Responsibilities Assess students writing levels and identify areas for improvement. Develop individualized goals. Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as necessary. Maintain records of student performance and communicate progress to parents Experience A degree in English or a related field is preferred. Strong understanding of childhood development. Proven ability to engage and motivate students through effective tutoring practices. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with parents and sometimes, teachers. 2+years working in this field Led writing groups, preferred.
