GED Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Regular Education Tutor provides targeted instructional support to elementary students in literacy and mathematics to promote academic growth and success. This position works collaboratively with classroom teachers and support staff to deliver small-group interventions, monitor progress, and adapt instruction to meet the individual needs of students in Grades K-3.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide targeted small group interventions in literacy and math based on student performance data. Implement a variety of instructional strategies to improve foundational reading and math skills. Monitor and document student progress; adjust instruction as needed to support ongoing growth. Collaborate with classroom teachers to align interventions with core curriculum and instructional goals. Provide in-class academic support during designated instructional blocks and WIN (What I Need) time. Assist with supervision during lunch and/or recess as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrator.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with elementary students in an instructional setting preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Ability to implement instructional strategies as directed by classroom teachers and specialists. Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.
Physical Demands:
Ability to work with students in both classroom and small-group settings. Must be able to move between classrooms and supervise students in various school environments
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee will be working in a normal school environment with an acceptable level of noise. The employee interacts with students, parents and other staff members and occasionally must meet multiple demands from several people. While the majority of the work day is spent inside, the employee must spend time outdoors for recess, fire drills, and special activities.
