Who We Are Top Score Education, founded in 2004, is a premier boutique tutoring and test prep company serving the DC metro region, Durham, North Carolina, and South Florida. We specialize in personalized 1-on-1 in-home tutoring for grades 6-12, covering all academic subjects, SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE, HSPT, and nearly all AP exams. . The Position We are hiring a part-time High School Math Tutors to deliver exceptional in-home tutoring in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Northern Virginia for the 2025-2026 school year. Sessions are scheduled after school (weekdays, 4-10 PM) and on weekends, providing flexible hours to fit your schedule. Key Responsibilities Deliver 90-120 minute private, in-home tutoring sessions for all high school math classes through AP Calculus BC. Create customized lesson plans to address individual student needs and learning goals. Maintain consistent, positive communication with parents and students to build trust and rapport. Collaborate with the Top Score team to track student progress and refine tutoring strategies. Provide academic guidance to support students' confidence and success in AP Physics exams. Ideal Candidate Proven experience teaching or tutoring Algebra II, Geometry, Calculus, and AP Calculus . Current or former high school teachers or graduate students pursuing a Master's/Ph.D. in a STEM field are strongly preferred. Additional expertise in tutoring STEM subjects (e.g., Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Biology) is a plus. Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees or certifications in education/STEM fields preferred. Passionate about building positive, supportive relationships with students and families. Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong time management and process adherence. Excellent communicator, responsive, and committed to collaborative teamwork.
Compensation & Benefits Competitive Pay :
Starting at $50-$75/hour , with potential to earn up to $80/hour based on experience and tenure.
Travel Bonus :
Additional compensation for travel exceeding 30 minutes to student homes.

Access to Top Score's resources, training, and collaborative network of educators. Logistical Requirements Flexible availability for evenings (4-10 PM weekdays) and weekends. Minimum commitment of 8 teaching hours per week (e.g., 1-2 weekday evenings and one weekend day). Reliable access to a car and willingness to travel up to 30 minutes for in-home sessions.
