Reading and Math Tutor Students Motivated through the Arts Powered by "DanceMakers" Lanham, MD Job Details Part-time From $18 an hour 2 days ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Driver's License Math Working with students Critical thinking Student-centered approaches (student motivation techniques) Full Job Description SMARTS Powered By Dance Makers has an immediate opening for a part time Tutor for K-5th grade students This position provides a student centered, supportive classroom that promotes compassion and tolerance, emotional security, resourcefulness, and independent critical thinking while addressing the individual academic and emotional needs of each student.
OFFERING HIGHER PAY RATE FOR DAYTIME AVAILABILITY
Responsibilities Communicate children's accomplishments with parent Supervise children at work and play. Work with other teachers in the center to provide coverage and care. Practice effective communicate with center director and staff Ensure the safety of all students Create, support and/or co-lead literacy and/or math-focused events to enrich school literacy and/or math culture and climate Promote a positive learning environment by modeling positive peer behaviors like respect, timeliness, attendance, and listening Additional responsibilities may be given Position Requirements High school diploma or better. Must enjoy working with school-age children. Must be dependable and a hard worker. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage and work closely with a wide range of staff members. Strong commitment to supporting SMARTS students and community. Able to pass State and FBI background checks for child care. Flexibility to work additional hours when necessary. Must Have A Valid Driver's License.
