Job Description
Founded in 1986, St. Charles Community College (SCC) has a reputation as one of the best two-year colleges in the state of Missouri. The AcademicSuccess Coach plays an integral role in the EXCEL erator and the college at large. This role provides subject-specific tutoring while serving as a holistic guide to help students navigate their academic journey and connect them with campus resources. This involves developing the broader skills needed for students to have long-term success in both academics and their career. This role serves as tutor, mentor, facilitator of self-discovery, accountability partner, skills developer, and champion of growth and transformation. Job Duties and Responsibilities AcademicSuccess Coaching Support Providing individualized academic coaching in either of the following subject areas: Writing Serving as a campus mentor/navigator for SCC Students. Helping students develop effective learning strategies, study skills, time management, and organizational skills, etc. Assisting students in identifying academic strengths and areas for improvement. Supporting students in navigating academic challenges, setting goals, and overcoming obstacles. Providing proactive outreach to at-risk students and connecting them with resources. Develop and distribute supplemental learning materials to support students. Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to students, faculty, and administration as needed. Assist with Study Hall Slam Sessions and Student Empowerment events.
