Full Job Description Job Purpose:

The Tutor supports the daily educational and enrichment activities of the before and after school program. This role focuses on providing homework help, academic support, and structured engagement for students in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. Tutors model professionalism, patience, and enthusiasm while maintaining consistent supervision and promoting learning through fun and meaningful activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Academic Support & Engagement Provide homework assistance and academic support in reading, writing, and math. Encourage good study habits and positive attitudes toward learning. Lead or assist with educational games, enrichment projects, and group activities. Maintain awareness of each student's progress and offer individualized support as needed. 2. Student Supervision & Safety Supervise students at all times to ensure safety and appropriate behavior. Monitor transitions, classroom activities, and outdoor play. Enforce program rules and expectations with fairness and consistency. Report any incidents, injuries, or concerns to the Director or Assistant Director immediately. 3. Program Support Assist with setup and cleanup of daily program areas. Help distribute snacks and materials for activities. Maintain clean, organized, and inviting workspaces for students. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and planning sessions as needed. 4. Professional Conduct & Team Collaboration Model positive behavior and respectful communication at all times. Work collaboratively with other tutors and program staff. Maintain confidentiality and uphold all HR and program policies. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist wherever needed.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED (required); college students or graduates pursuing education or related fields (preferred). Experience working with children in a school, camp, or after-school setting. Ability to assist with homework and basic academic subjects. Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Pay:

From $15.00 per hour
